So close!!

Streets of Tegucigalpa
In 2 weeks I will be in Honduras!! I can't believe it's just right around the corner. I can't believe my feet will be walking the dusty roads of this beloved yet broken country once again. I am indeed exceedingly blessed.

God has provided so faithfully for me to be able to return to Honduras. Through the generosity of so many I have raised the approximate $15,000 to cover my budget as a missionary intern with Mission to the World (which covers all my basic needs). Thank you so much!

But, because I will be a volunteer intern and not a salaried intern this year there are certain personal expenses that my budget does not cover as well as personal ministry expenses.

For example, I built many significant relationships with my students at Orphanage Emmanuel last year. I have continued those relationships while being back in the states through writing letters, and facebook and phone calls to those who have been old enough and decided to leave Emmanuel. Several of my students who have left have sought me out as a support during their transition out of the orphanage. Recently, one of my students Oscar called me while on a trip out of the orphanage (to begin to see what it's like outside). He is 18, graduated from 9th grade and wants to return to La Ceiba where he is originally from. He wants to find his family (whom he has not seen in over 10 years) and wants to find a job. He has sought me out for help, knowing that I will be living in La Ceiba. I am eager to help him and excited that he will be coming to La Ceiba because I can be a support for him and help him get connected to a church, our ministry and men who can pour into him. My hope is to financially support him initially (apartment rent and food) while he searches for a job. This is a personal ministry expense outside of my MTW ministry, but I long to respond in faith to all that God puts before me.

For cases like these and other personal expenses I am hoping to raise an extra $2,000-$4,000. If you would like to help cover my additional expenses and help me respond to the needs placed before me you can donate online at my GoFundMe site: http://www.gofundme.com/8lr4ec
